Lesson Suite AI is an AI-powered platform that helps teachers create comprehensive, standards-aligned lesson plans quickly and easily. It integrates with Google Workspace to export lesson plans to Google Docs, Slides, and Forms.

The number of lesson plans depends on your subscription tier: Free (5/month), Core (25/month), Premium (60/month), or School/District (unlimited).

Important: New lessons start as DRAFTS and don't count toward your monthly limit until you approve them! This lets you review and edit before using up your quota.

Draft System Overview: All newly generated lessons start as drafts, giving you time to review and edit before they count against your monthly limit.

  • Draft Status: New lessons display a yellow "DRAFT" badge at the top
  • Don't Count: Drafts do NOT use up your monthly lesson quota
  • Exports Locked: You cannot export drafts (all export buttons are disabled with lock icons)
  • To Approve: Click the "Approve & Save Lesson" button when you're ready
  • After Approval: Lesson counts toward your limit and all export options unlock
  • Auto-Approval: Drafts automatically approve after 48 hours (countdown timer shown)

Why? This system lets you experiment, edit sections, and perfect your lessons before committing them to your monthly usage.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.

Export options by tier:

  • Free: PDF downloads only
  • Core: PDF + Google Docs (professionally formatted) + Copy to Clipboard + Lesson History
  • Premium: All Core features + Google Slides + Google Forms + PDF Worksheets
  • School/District: All Premium features + unlimited lessons

Note: All exports are locked until you approve the lesson. Drafts cannot be exported.

Export Locking System: If your export buttons are disabled with lock icons and "Locked" badges, your lesson is still a DRAFT.

To unlock exports:

  1. Look for the yellow "DRAFT" badge at the top of your lesson
  2. Click the "Approve & Save Lesson" button (green button with checkmark)
  3. Confirm approval in the modal that appears
  4. All export options will immediately unlock

Why are exports locked? This prevents abuse of the system. Since drafts don't count toward your monthly limit, we lock exports until you approve the lesson and it counts toward your quota.

Reminder: Drafts auto-approve after 48 hours, unlocking all exports automatically.

Section Editing Feature: You can regenerate individual sections of your lesson using AI without recreating the entire lesson.

How to edit a section:

  1. Click the "✏️ Edit" button at the top of your lesson plan
  2. Select which section to edit from the dropdown menu (Title, Objectives, Standards, Materials, Lesson Procedures, Assessment, Differentiation, or Reflection)
  3. Provide clear instructions about what you want changed (e.g., "Make this more appropriate for advanced students" or "Add more hands-on activities")
  4. Click "Regenerate Section" and wait 10-15 seconds
  5. The AI will regenerate just that section while keeping the rest of your lesson intact

How to select: Choose your preferred framework from the dropdown when creating a lesson (available for all three creation methods: From Scratch, Upload Lesson, YouTube Video).

Note: The framework only affects the Lesson Procedures section structure. All other sections (Objectives, Materials, Assessment, etc.) remain in standard format.

  • Footer: "Generated by LessonSuiteAI" in teal color

Google Slides Formatting:

  • Professional slide layouts with proper text boxes
  • Formatted content ready for classroom presentations
  • Clean, consistent design throughout

Copy to Clipboard:

  • Clean text with all markdown formatting stripped
  • No hashtags, asterisks, or special characters
  • Perfect for pasting into other applications

All exports are professionally formatted and ready for immediate classroom use!

Popup Blocker Issue: Most browsers have popup blockers that prevent new tabs from opening automatically. To fix this:
  • Look for a popup blocker icon in your browser's address bar (usually on the right side)
  • Click the icon and select "Always allow popups from this site"
  • Refresh the page and try the export again

Important: Even if a new tab didn't open, your file may still have been created! Check your Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, or Google Forms to see if the file is there.

Alternative: After exporting, you can click the "Edit" or "View" links that appear below the export buttons to access your documents.

Common troubleshooting steps:
  • Check your internet connection: A stable connection is required for AI generation
  • Refresh the page: Sometimes a simple refresh resolves temporary issues
  • Try again: If generation fails, wait a moment and try generating again
  • Simplify your input: Very long or complex topics may take longer to process
  • Clear your browser cache: Outdated cached data can sometimes cause issues

Google authentication required: To use Google Workspace features, you need to:
  1. Make sure you're logged in with your Google account
  2. Grant permission for Lesson Suite AI to access your Google Drive
  3. Have the right subscription tier:
    • Core: Google Docs export and worksheets
    • Premium: All Core features plus Google Slides and Google Forms
    • Free plan: PDF downloads only (no Google Workspace features)

If you've done all this and still don't see the options, try logging out and logging back in, or check your subscription status on your Account page.

Yes! We offer three ways to create lessons:

1. From Scratch (Traditional Method):

  • Enter grade level, subject, topic, duration, and standards
  • AI generates a complete lesson plan in ~30 seconds

2. Upload Existing Lesson:

  • Upload your lesson plan as PDF, DOCX, or TXT file
  • Select language (English or Spanish)
  • AI extracts and regenerates it as an improved, formatted lesson
  • Great for translating lessons or upgrading old materials

3. From YouTube Video:

  • Paste any YouTube video URL (15 minutes or less recommended)
  • Select grade level, subject, and language
  • Choose lesson type:
    • "Extract Content": Creates lesson based on video content (video not included in lesson)
    • "Use Video as Resource": Creates lesson that incorporates the video into activities
  • AI analyzes the video transcript and creates a comprehensive lesson
